California State University San Marcos seeks an Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanic for their Energy Management and Utility Services department. Under general supervision, the position has varying responsibility for the independent and ongoing installation, operation, maintenance, and repairs of a wide range of complex refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, water systems, and related building automation systems. Must be thoroughly familiar with all safety codes and regulations related to the installation and operation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The position also maintains services, inspects, and repairs the mechanical, electrical, electronic, and digital controls associated with these systems. May perform duties under an alternate work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications include:
Progressively responsible experience in the installation, adjustment, maintenance and repair of commercial and domestic refrigeration and air conditioning systems involving modulatory and safety controls, thermostats, humidifiers and duct stats as well as one year of experience in the installation and repair of central multi-zone air conditioning systems.
Journey-level skill equivalent to that acquired through the completion of a refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic's apprenticeship program is required.
Valid driver's license
Certification in the use and disposal of refrigerants.
Must successfully meet and pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug screen
Completion of a certificate or other vocational training preferred
Experience in an academic setting, preferably within the CSU
Salary and Position Status:
Full-time probationary position with benefits
Salary Range: $5,370 - $6,807/month
Anticipated Hiring Salary: $5,370/month
