California State University San Marcos seeks a Lead Building Service Engineer for their, Energy Management, Utilities & Sustainability department. Under general supervision, the Lead Building Service Engineer (Lead BSE) works with and provides lead work direction to a small group of skilled and semi-skilled workers involved in the preventive maintenance, installation, operation, and repair of mechanical systems related to heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, energy management, electronic controls, power, water and sewer systems and equipment as related to HVAC and/or Mechanical systems throughout the campus. The Lead BSE spends the majority of time working as a Building Service Engineer or in related HVAC trade while performing lead work coordination and project planning responsibilities for a work crew. May be required to work an alternate work schedule, i.e., swing shift.

Minimum Qualifications include:
Two years of journey-level experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of boiler, chiller, cogeneration, heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment and systems, or the equivalent combination of formal course work in mechanical technology and hands-on experience.
California Driver's License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment
Must successfully meet and pass a pre-employment medical examination and drug screen
Completion of an apprenticeship program with journey level experience in one of the following; HVAC, Plumbing, electrical, or refrigeration.
Experience leading a small group of skilled workers
Project management experience or experience coordinating multiple work assignments and the work of others.
