Oak-Leyden Developmental Services is a not-for-profit organization that helps people with developmental disabilities meet life's challenges and reach their highest potential. Our Maintenance workers provide general building and grounds maintenance and repair services for multiple Agency sites. This position is full time, Time 40 hrs/week. Hours are 7 am - 3 pm M-F plus alternate on-call evenings, weekends & holidays as assigned.
Qualifications: - Experience in performing carpentry, concrete placing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance work. - Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in custodial work, landscaping and maintenance, EPA & OSHA related safety codes and practices. - Current drivers license & good driving record. - High School diploma or GED. - Good knowledge of building maintenance and operations functions, building energy conservation techniques, building codes and related regulations. - Ability to evaluate maintenance needs of buildings and related facilities, and notifying management of safety hazards or repair/replacement needs. - Ability to lift 90 lbs and move heavy furniture properly. - Ability to work alone, as part of a team and willingness to interact respectfully with all individuals with developmental disabilities, families, staff and management. - Ability to successfully complete drug, fingerprinting and background checks.
