Shift: M-F 7am-3:30pm, possibly one Sunday every 8 weeks
Provide maintenance and preventive maintenance to the buildings, equipment and grounds to provide a safe and healthful environment. Primary focus of plumbing. Other responsibilities include those of general maintenance (i.e., electrical, HVAC, equipment maintenance, building maintenance and safety testing).
High School diploma or equivalent
work experience requirements
5 years experience in plumbing/HVAC and general maintenance or is able to demonstrate the ability to perform these responsibilities
Journeyman plumber license required
Position duties (essential functions, INCLUDE % OF TIME)
WORK ORDERS - 50%
Installs, maintains and repairs sinks, showers, toilets, valves, other plumbing fixtures and opens clogged drains.
Installs and repairs medical gas lines.
Installs refrigeration machinery, air conditioning equipment, water coolers and small refrigerators.
Repairs, replaces and tests equipment, appliances and electrical circuits using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
Monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
Inspects and performs safety tests on plumbing systems, medical gas systems, fire sprinkler systems, medical equipment, alarm systems, HVAC systems, emergency generators, and electrical systems.
DOCUMENTATION - 25%
Maintains all required records and information for all regulatory agencies (i.e., JAHCO, NFPA, state and city health departments).
TIME MANAGEMENT - 25%
Prioritizing work as to immediate need.
Self motivated; needs little direction when performing routine activities.
Anticipates maintenance needs before they become a problem or a safety hazard.
Works well under pressure of time constraints.
