We are currently working with a privately held Healthcare Facilities Maintenance / Environmental Services Management company to identify an experienced District Manager.

In summary, the District Manager will oversee multiple accounts within a territory and be directly responsible for managing the Directors of EVS and / or Directors of Facilities/Maintenance within those accounts. This position will require 4 days a week traveling to customer accounts with 1 home office day per week. The expectation of the District Manager is to visit each account at least once per month and spend quality time at each account. All accounts are located in PA, and generally located around Harrisburg, Lewisburg, and near the Philadelphia areas and include hospitals, nursing homes, and public schools.
Responsibilities will include:
Hire, train and direct facility managers in the areas of physical plant, plant operations and maintenance, life safety.
Hire, train, and direct the environmental services managers in the areas of facility cleanliness, education and training, safety, infection control.
Support facilities managers in the areas of maintenance and construction activities, the functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and elevators. Support managers in overseeing contractors for facility renovation projects entailing HVAC, electrical systems, and patient care efficiency and comfort.
Regulatory compliance of local, state, federal and CMS, TJC codes, OSHA, CDC guidelines, and standards for all facilities and ICRA protections.
Assist with new account surveys, the development of financials and in presentations.
Assist in the planning and coordination of all activities for new account openings.
Promote staff development and improvement in the interests of the facilities operations and environmental services and of individual staff members.
Ensure Directors maintain adequate shift coverage by properly scheduling employees within budget parameters.
Apply Performance Improvement (PI) plans, which statistically monitors and evaluates statistics that are important to the department and then implement changes to enhance the departments’ progress towards the established goals.
Using information provided by the department managers and supervisors, through their daily tours and quality checks, to make staffing adjustments and set project priorities. Use this same information as part of a PI plan, which includes monthly flow charts and reports.
Establish sound goals and objectives and develops plans of action with priorities.
Participate in facility strategic planning.
Meet with administrator, department heads and vendors to achieve coordination, resolve concerns and plan future goals and objectives.
Make regular and frequent rounds to inspect work performed and identify areas to be repaired or improved.
Conduct quarterly review meetings with each client.
Bachelor degree preferred but not required.
Industry specific certifications highly desired.
10+ years’ of multi-site senior level management experience in hospital, nursing homes, and or public school settings.
Must have a background in managing both EVS and Facilities/Maintenance areas.
Must have a strong financial background with experience managing multiple budgets and ability to develop proformas for new business.
Be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
