The candidate for this position will be responsible for all aspects of fiscal management, budget recommendations, human resource and auxiliary enterprises, capital equipment, tech support, physical plant maintenance and the environmental health and safety. Supervision of staff inclusive of responsibility for staff development and oversight, professional program development and evaluation, performance and appraisals. Management oversight for contractual services. Formulates and monitors administrative policies/operating guidelines. Involved in the preparation and response to all fiscal reports. Serves as administrative liaison between campus fiscal offices, the Provost’s Office and the SUNY University Center for Academic and Workforce Development.
Duties would include the following:
Review operational protocols for security with security vendor
Review operational protocols for custodial staff
Review operational protocols for UB Facilities (Building & Trades)
Review operational protocols for Campus Dining
Schedule and Supervise Events for Conference Center
Review pertinent Administrative Services Unit staff matters, including Supervise IT Staff
Supervise the Coordinator of Budget
Assist the Executive Director and Senior Staff in developing the Center, functional unit and budgets relative to State and Research Foundation funded projects.
Provide fiscal oversight of the annual state operating budget and all grant funded projects.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Management or Business Administration and 5 years experience as a supervisor in a higher education environment. High proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, Word, Access, and Oracle is expected. Experience in Event Planning. Managerial experience in related areas is required (i.e., HVAC, mechanical and electrical areas, fire code and safety issues and maintenance, security contract management), as are strong organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands and projects. Strong customer service orientation is essential, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being able to work effectively with all levels of faculty, staff students and external constituents. Evening and weekend hours are expected.
Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Management or Business Administration with 3 years experience as a supervisor in a higher education environment.
