Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position acts as the University main point of contact to multiple parties, such as architects, engineers, contractors, campus clients/customers, consultants, Town administrators and other senior leadership. Consults with various groups to discuss alternatives, develop common ground, analyze specific issues, develop protocol and standards and find solutions to complex problems. Persons in this role serve as the University leadership for each assigned project. Very few written instructions are given to this individual as he/she is expected to accomplish assigned tasks independently, solving complex and technical issues as occur. These may include Research facilities, Multi-purpose buildings and infrastructure projects with complex HVAC, Life Safety and Controls systems. This position is expected to take action to solve problems while exhibiting good judgment and realistic assessment of the issues and applying these as situations occur.
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination and ability to achieve professional registration within 4 years of employment with the Physical Plant Department.
