The Anti-Cruelty Society is accepting resumes for a full-time Director of Facilities. The Director of Facilities is responsible for maintaining the building and equipment of The Anti-Cruelty Society, as well as supervising housekeeping and maintenance staff, in order to ensure a safe and comfortable facility that meets the needs of our animals, staff and visitors.
Essential Job Function:
Oversees the operation of all building mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC (RTU’s, chillers, pumps, low-pressure boiler), plumbing (domestic water, high pressure washing pump), electrical system, overhead doors, med-gas and elevators.
Creates/maintains a schedule of preventive maintenance for all of our operating systems, including permits, inspections and repairs.
Provides oversight, direction and review of the Manager of Building Services to ensure a clean and well maintained facility for our clients visitors and staff.
Keeps all of our storage areas and maintenance workspaces well organized.
In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, maintains a key and lock system and inventory to ensure proper building security.
Has the ability to perform minor repairs to the facility and equipment when necessary.
Develops training procedures for building services staff, that provide the continuity of services in the absence of the Director of Facilities, and educates them on all aspects of safe operation of our systems.
Develops relationships with outside vendors to provide value for both the purchase of supplies and necessary equipment service.
Interacts respectfully, with staff, volunteers, visitors and vendors, at all times, to enhance the reputation of the Society.
Attend all special events and meetings, as may be required
Assist in any other areas as designated by the Vice President of Operations.
Qualified candidates must have a current driver’s license, reliable transportation and maintain a good driving record. Must also be able to operate a walk behind forklift. Familiarity with system controls software, as well as an ability to learn new software applications is required. Familiarity with basic plumbing, electricity and mechanical procedures is also required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years in building management or related experience and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
