JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS:
The Facility Manager serves asthe primary emergency responder for facility emergencies at the UTHSC-cGMPFacility (Plough Center). This position oversees the maintenance, operation,and repairs of all facility utility systems and the mechanical and cGMP processequipment.
Monitorsall major equipment and log readings as described in building StandardOperating Procedures. Notifies Plough Center facility manager of emergencies.
Checksall mechanical systems and structural integrity of the building on a routinebasis for problems or abnormalities. Troubleshoots and repairs problems foundor notifies campus facilities and coordinates repair by outside vendor.
Tests,decontaminates and changes all pre-filters and HEPA filters.
Collaborateswith campus facilities to perform routine testing of emergency power andgenerator, to alter, validate and test control sequences, and to operate HVACcontrols during decontamination of facility as needed.
OperatesClorDisys system during gaseous decontamination of various rooms and filterbanks inside the Plough Center.
Maintainswritten documentation of all maintenance and repairs for inclusion. Ensures allpreventative maintenance procedures are performed in a timely manner and arecompliant with regulatory requirements.
Coordinatesrepairs and routine maintenance with outside vendors (elevator, plumbing,electrical, roof, deionized water system, painting, and others as required).
MonitorsHVAC daily. Performs or schedules required adjustments, preventive maintenance,and repairs to HVAC equipment as needed.
Respondsto problems and alarms immediately. Documents work and disseminate informationto appropriate parties.
Performstesting for pressure, DP sensors, the fire alarm system, and other mechanicalsystems identified as needed.
Performsannual certification of biosafety cabinets, HEPA banks and Allentown cagingequipment.
Addressesthe needs of facility users and performs specialized duties on the UTHSC campusas assigned.
