Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (Unclassified MSCF-TC Faculty)
Teach instructional lecture and lab courses in residential HVAC.
Continuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes.
Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning.
Support of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resources.
Development and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid courses.
Availability to teach at any of our locations during the daytime, evening or weekend in order to maximize enrollment and meet the needs of our diverse student population.
Contribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection etc.
Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development.
Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects.
Incumbent must be able to work the required schedule which could include mornings, afternoons and/or evenings as needed by the department. Initial work assignment will be primarily mornings and early afternoons.
Must be able to travel between campuses and to off-site locations.
Diploma or the completion of an apprenticeship in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in residential or commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
The following is required by the end of the third year (6th semester) of unlimited employment.

Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
* These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. Two years of experience teaching at a technical college.
Experience in both commercial and residential HVAC.
Working knowledge of D2L or other technology that can be utilized in the classroom.
