PROJECT COORDINATOR, Facilities-Operations, to assist project managers with coordinating procedures, budgets, and all aspects of executing and closing out construction projects. Will collaborate with renewal planner/project manager to coordinate maintenance and/or construction projects; meet with contractors, engineers, and designers to convey project details and requirements; assist with contractor mobilization and access with an eye for quality and safety; prepare periodic tracking reports related to project scheduling, review, inspection, documentation, and commissioning; ensure quality installations; create RFPs and execute all procurement requirements in hiring contractors; implement QA/QC procedures; establish and maintain client and subcontractor relationships; and provide superior customer service while coordinating numerous concurrent projects.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: a high school diploma (associate's or B.S. degree desirable); a minimum of three years' related experience; direct/related experience in repair and maintenance and/or facilities management; experience working in teams; excellent customer service, project management, and written and oral communication skills; strong background in one of the major mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, or structural trades; and working knowledge of MS Office. Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients and external vendors is essential. The position involves traversing MIT's 168 acre campus including campus field, city, and new construction sites; regularly entering and navigating all building and mechanical system spaces; and routinely accessing and conducting work in both small/confined and high spaces including roofs.
