To provide skilled preventive building and grounds maintenance, including household/commercial repairs, routine plumbing, electrical, hvac, carpentry work, pick up/delivery of Association property, event set up as assigned under the weekly maintenance schedule and work order system. To respond to emergency maintenance needs after hours or on weekends on a rotating basis. From time to time, to perform necessary janitorial functions to protect and to preserve Association properties.
Other important information/details about the position:
Hands-on maintenance experience in residential complex, school, industrial or institutional setting preferred. Should possess basic understanding of plumbing, electrical wiring, hvac, carpentry and power tool operation. However, applicants without this experience will still be considered and trained if chosen.
Prefer at least 1 year of experience working with persons with disabilities in a recreation setting, community agency, school or employment setting, etc. Must be at least 21 years of age and have a HS Diploma or GED. All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State and have a valid Illinois driver’s license (only for staff over 21 years of age). Excellent oral and written skills are essential. Must be able to meet the HealthCare Worker Background Check requirements, have valid IL Driver’s License and have personal transportation. Positive and up-beat personality is a must.
