FM has an exciting opening for a HVAC professional. The position will be filled at either the Senior HVAC Assistant OR the HVAC Mechanic level, depending on the credentials of the finalist selected.
A SENIOR HVAC ASSISTANT assists HVAC Mechanics with HVAC repairs, cleans job sites, trains on more advanced installations and emergency repairs, and follows all customer service and safety protocols. A high school diploma is required with some experience in HVAC installation and repair. The incumbent hired at this level will be considered for promotion once they have attained the required experience and licensure for the HVAC Mechanic level.
HVAC MECHANICS perform journey level installation, maintenance, servicing, overhauling and repair on a variety of equipment including water fountains (coolers), ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, and walk in boxes in support of zone maintenance. A high school diploma is required along with at least four years of experience in the HVAC trade. Additionally, to be considered, candidates MUST have the HVAC journeyman license. Required Specific Experience: To qualify for the SENIOR HVAC ASSISTANT, applicants should have some professional experience in HVAC installation and repair.
To qualify for the HVAC MECHANIC, applicants must have a minimum of four years' professional journey level experience in the HVAC trade.
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Extensive - 7 years plus
Required License or Certification: Valid Driver's License for both levels.
To qualify for the SENIOR HVAC ASSISTANT, no license is required.
To qualify for the HVAC MECHANIC, an HVAC Journeyman License is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required for Both Levels:
1. Ability to communicate effectively. 2. Demonstrated ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. 3. Ability to read and understand schematics. 4. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Required for the HVAC Mechanic (preferred for the Senior HVAC Assistant level):
1. Working knowledge of the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment. 2. Knowledge and skill in hand tools and diagnostic equipment employed in maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment 3. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC refrigeration equipment.
