Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Plumbing Systems, the Manager, Plumbingl Systems is responsible for the delivery of preventive maintenance associated with the campus main normal and emergency plumbing systems. This positon manages the daily operations of the plumbing group. Additional responsibilities include the planning, administration and management of all plumbing systems and routine operational projects. The Manager will also participate in revising budget estimates, estimating cost to complete projects and schedules for the Work Orders to be implemented and updating the master schedule and budget reporting systems as necessary. He/she will prepare reports, documents, correspondence and communications for the department; complete incident reports; maintain an orderly set of project files, policies and procedures. The Manager will plan job schedules, oversee work performed by outside contractors, and assist with the resolution of complaints, work order requests and issues through effective and efficient utilization of personnel and materials. He/She provides field instruction to the staff and manages the manpower, materials and resources, ensuring work is completed within budget. The Manager responds to emergency situations (floods, fires, etc) by assisting with the coordination, troubleshooting and communication of emergency activities as required. Works with the Director, Trade Services to address any plumbing service issues and determine the appropriate level of response.
The Manager supports and implements University and departmental policies and procedures, maintains timesheets for his/her staff in Kronos which includes scheduling and overtime. Oversees the processing of invoices and requests to ensure on time payment, material orders. He/She monitors unit budget and maintains inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment. Schedules all pretesting and inspections with staff and vendors to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws with respect to the different plumbing divisions. Maintains all testing and inspection reports for all normal and emergency plumbing systems. Represents the Director, Trade Services in his/her absence. Performs other related projects and departmental duties as assigned.

General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or 6 years of related professional experience in lieu of the degree requirement. A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Five years of experience in business management and delivery of maintenance in a institutional/campus setting with a strong familiarity in with commercial/industrial plumbing. Master Plumbing license highly desirable.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Computer literacy and experience working with spreadsheets required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints and equipment. Must be able to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks. Knowledge of existing City, State and Federal Codes a plus.
Must be able to meet physical demands of position including frequent lifting, carrying, bending, pushing, pulling. Campus is spread-out over 7 MM square feet and involves considerable moving about.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred. Previous experience in plumbing Commercial or Industrial Facilities maintenance background preferred.
