The Operating Engineer position at Carleton is a full-time (1.0 FTE) union represented position which is responsible for the operation, care, and maintenance of the Steam, Water, and Chiller plans and their respective distribution and storage system. This position requires continuous education to further educate and support this position.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities
Operate, repair and maintain high pressure boilers and auxiliary steam plant
Perform the duties of a shift engineer in a high pressure steam
Assists in the operation, testing and maintenance of the emergency
Works with outside contractors for the operation and maintenance of the Central Steam Plant and Water
Works closely with the other Facilities staff as necessary to complete central utilities
Assist the Chief Operating Engineer with requirements and long term capital project needs for the Steam Plant and Water
Tear down, clean and prepare the boilers for annual
Assist Maintenance operations as
Assist with other maintenance duties as
Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager
