We are seeking to employ a Construction Manager for a large campus project in the St. Louis area. The Construction Manager will be the main liaison with project stakeholders to insure that the construction activities are coordinated to facilitate an efficient and cost effective project execution construction projects.
Overseeing the construction management team consisting of inspectors, document control personnel, safety professionals and schedulers, and manage the document control process using Primavera Contract Manager or e-Builder.
Managing contract administration activities and the preparation of Construction Progress Reports to document progress and to identify key issues that need to be addressed by the client team.
Performing constructability reviews and value engineering analyses.
Evaluating and reviewing contractor schedules and pay applications and making recommendations to the client.
Evaluating the merits of contractor issued change orders and claims and making recommendations to the client.
Coordinating with different departments within an individual client’s organization as well as with third party utilities and outside stakeholders.
Acting as the Owner’s agent with regards to the construction process.
Understanding, evaluating and solving construction related field issues.
Assisting in the RFI, submittal, and change order review process and reviewing of the contractor’s work schedule and schedule implementation.
Assisting in negotiating sub consultant participation in contracts.
Negotiating task orders and developing cost proposals for clients.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related technical field REQUIRED
Must have a minimum of 15 years’ of experience in construction management
Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory or program management role
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods along with an understanding of all facets of the construction process
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Demonstrated experience managing project cost/budget, scope, schedule, and resources, managing vendors, and overseeing formal planning, tracking, and reporting project performance
Familiarity with the use of a variety of project control systems such as Contract Manager, P/6, MS Project, SharePoint, etc.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
An advanced degree and Professional Certification is desirable (CCM or PMP preferred, LEED AP a plus).
