This position supervises the day-to-day performance of technical, labor, and contract staff engaged in facility & pool maintenance, repair, and construction related to the City of Bellevue Parks & Community Services Aquatics Sites.
This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance of physical structures, mechanical operations & maintenance, SCADA systems, regulatory oversite, chemical water treatment & disinfection and renovation projects related to all aquatic sites, water features and spray parks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and administers overall aquatics maintenance programs and related structures.
Recruits, selects, orients, and trains new employees.
Supervises performance of contracted work.
Resolves workflow problems and conflicts by analyzing impediments and organizing work to maximize use of personnel and material resources.
Provides input into division and section budgetary and financial administration by providing major maintenance project scoping/management and estimates.
Ensures completion of section work by reviewing and monitoring services and work requests assigned to crews.
Provides technical support to staff to include after hours.
Inspects pools, fountains, playground water features, buildings & sites and identifies specific component repair problems such as carpentry repairs, rewiring, plumbing, heating maintenance projects, and painting needs.
Prioritizes and assigns tasks to Technical Specialist-Aquatics and contractors.
Acts as technical advisor to personnel on the completion of these tasks.
Reviews work in progress and when completed to ensure compliance with department standards.
Purchasing of materials and services utilizing established policy & procedure and all government laws & regulations.

Thorough knowledge of pool chemistry, filtration and analysis.
Knowledge of small to large pumps, pump controllers and plumbing infrastructure.
Knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern the safe operations of aquatic facilities.
Knowledge of plumbing & electrical infrastructure supporting an aquatics facility.
Knowledge of regulations and laws governing government contracting & purchasing.
Knowledge and proficiency of the Microsoft Suite of Office software.
Knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and the use of CMMS in O&M operations. Maximo is preferred.
Knowledge of Ultra Violet (UV) water treatment systems.
Knowledge of 'Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition' (SCADA) telemetry control systems.
Knowledge of HPO (High Performing Organizations) and Shared Leadership Models and their implementation.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from high school or a GED equivalent, some college preferred.
Five or more years of progressively responsible related experience. Preferred 10 years of experience.
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid State Driver's license.
Obtain Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) within 12 months of hire and maintain certification.
Valid Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) as issued by NRPA (National Recreation and Parks Association).
Pass a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
