The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of the Fawcett Event Center. Ideal candidates must have strong mechanical background.
Monitors, inspects, controls and repairs all building systems; monitors, controls chilled water and boiler systems; may operate computer to monitor/adjust building systems; monitors and maintains compressed air, water and sewage lines, electric, fire panel, HVAC systems and other equipment such as heat exchangers, valves, compressors, air handlers, housekeeping equipment, kitchen equipment. Repairs and installs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and related kitchen equipment. Performs planned maintenance on air distribution and boiler systems, chilled water and cooling tower systems, generators, pumps, and related equipment.
Troubleshoots, tests and diagnoses problems with all building systems and equipment; operates equipment to determine problems with steam, boiler, compressed air, water, electric, plumbing, elevator, fire panel, HVAC and other building systems; performs emergency repairs and adjustments on all systems; completes work orders and oversees repair of equipment.
Monitors inventory of parts and supplies. Maintains workshop and mechanical spaces, cleans and maintains tools and equipment. May perform light custodial duties including mopping and sweeping floors, washing walls and windows. Assists with snow removal. Perform light grounds keeping duties. Performs other related duties as assigned
This position is regularly scheduled Monday- Friday 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Position may be scheduled some nights and weekends based on event schedule and/or project work. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work from elevated platforms or ladders. Subject to emergency call in 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

7th grade education or higher; 600 hours training in electrical, plumbing and air handling maintenance and related safety practices (or six months of experience); 300 hours training in maintenance of boiler and power generating equipment (or three months of experience); one course in public relations (or one month of experience); or equivalent; may require a valid driver's license.
Target Salary: $14.87 - $23.32 Hourly
