Maryville University is seeking candidates for the position of Project Coordinator to assist in all aspects of capital project development and project coordination. The Project Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of Facilities. This full time position is eligible for benefits including medical, dental, life, vision, tuition and ten percent retirement match. Duties include development of conceptual estimates and schedules, document organization and review, field support and verification, permit processing, contractor supervision, RFP development, procurement and internal logistics. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students.
Project Development Coordination: Assist in coordinating activities related to planned construction projects in any capacity. Perform activities in the field related to project development: field take-off, coordination of design/engineering activities, development of conceptual estimates and schedules, coordination of field testing and logistic activities.
Capital Project Coordination: Support the day-to-day operations of ongoing capital projects as directed. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting with deliveries, logistic support, resolving field and scheduling conflicts, quality control, documentation progress and attending site coordination meetings. Coordination of procurement of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FFE) for projects. Coordination of office moves and relocations.
Small Project Coordination: Support the day-to-day operations of ongoing small projects as directed. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting with deliveries, logistic support, resolving conflicts, and coordinating schedules with ongoing University operations.
Budgetary: Assist in the preparation of annual capital budgets for the Facilities Management and Planning Department. Obtain quotes and proposals for various services or materials based on annual renovation requests submitted by University departments.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field OR o Three – five years directly relatable experience (construction management/administration, commercial real estate management)
Working knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, and structural
Working knowledge of all building material, inventory, and supplies and their uses in facilities
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, practices, terminology, contract documents and project management
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to be adaptable, intuitive, and flexible
Strong sense of initiative; self-starter
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to negotiate and analyze best pricing for products and services
Ability to coordinate, evaluate and review construction documents for understanding and accuracy
Proficient in Windows applications and Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new systems
Experience in commercial real estate or construction industry
