Works and directs staff to complete improvements and repairs at all the Youth Learning Institute sites across SC: Pickens Headquarters and Education Center, Youth Leadership Academy, Tall Pines STEM academy, Camp Ghigau, Camp Long, Camp Sewee, Camp Cooper and Camp Hannon. JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Project Execution: Plans, organizes and prioritizes work activities based on schedules set by the Facilities Director and supervisor. Read and follow blueprints and execute plans as directed by the Director of Facilities and maintenance supervisor. Works with staff to complete projects keeping supervisor informed of status, delays, or unexpected revisions to projects. Assist in executing plans to avoid added expenses whenever possible.
35% - Essential - Machinery: Operates heavy machinery in a safe manner following OSHA compliance and standards. Assist in the rental agreements of machinery needed following procurement guidelines for various on-site projects. Operate all equipment needed with associated projects: carpeting, general plumbing, sheet rock, painting and floor coverings.
20% - Essential - Maintenance and Upkeep: Maintain accurate records and maintenance for vehicles assigned to the improvement and repair team. Follow routine maintenance guidelines as set by the Fleet Manager. Work with all site directors to maintain and carry out repairs as directed by the Director of Facilities. Plans and conducts periodic inspections as a preventative measure on all equipment. Manage the costs of supplies and equipment needed for each project.
5% - Essential - Other Duties: Execute projects as assigned by supervisor and the Director of Facilities. Overnight travel required. All other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and custodial, groundskeeping or maintenance experience directly related to the area of employment. RESPONSIBILITIES:
