Respond to routine and complex Commercial HVAC related service calls, perform inspections and corrective maintenance activities to the university's HVAC systems, including controls and auxiliary components. Assist with PM Program. Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate with all levels of campus community and business contacts.
Must be able to work well with other technicians and tradesman.
Must possess excellent time management skills and be able to handle multiple tasks.
A High School Diploma with a minimum 5-7 years' experience in commercial HVAC.
Proven ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and schematic diagrams.
Ability to accurately document and track preventative maintenance activities.
Demonstrated skills to perform HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance at a technician level 5 or higher.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, building materials and emergency maintenance.
Knowledge of general trade methods, materials, tools and equipment.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to safe working practices as defined by industry and regulatory standards.
Knowledge of safe driving practices as defined by California DMV.
Ability to work in a variety of physical environments including on ladders, man lifts etc. with heights of up to 30 feet.
Reqs EPA R410A certification.
Ability to perform maintenance and repair on TRANEMCQUAY and YORK Chillers
Completion of a four year apprenticeship program
