SENIOR PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PLANNER/SCHEDULER, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE, Facilities-Maintenance and Utilities-Operations and Maintenance Division, to serve as a liaison between the maintenance teams that are geographically structured to support various sections of the MIT campus. Will be responsible for ensuring that resources (labor, parts, facilities) are available at all times before scheduled work begins; producing work schedules for the maintenance function; monitoring and reporting on the performance and completion status of projects during specific scheduled periods; and determining priorities for work flow to increase the reliability and delivery of services by ensuring that staffing, equipment, and solid schedules are in place. Will assess and prioritize work based on critical systems and equipment requirements, project commitments, age of a work orders, resource availability, and customer satisfaction; and work with supervisors to establish priorities and assign resources.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: at least five years' directly relevant work experience; extensive practical experience in the planning and coordination of at least five of the following areas--HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, electrical, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, instrumentation, and general mechanical; experience with and understanding of the planning and scheduling of maintenance projects; ability to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and principles; ability to work independently and as part of a service-oriented team; experience using a maintenance planning system; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills; attention to detail; and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of customers. A bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or facilities management preferred, as is SAP experience. Advanced degree and/or PE status a plus. Job #15763-P
