The Assistant Manager of Plant Operations is an Administrative position that reports directly to the Manager of Plant Operations. He or she is primarily responsible for operation of the College's mechanical equipment and Mechanical Services Department.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties:
Supervise the Facilities Department Staff as they relate to the day to day operation of the college
Supervise the day to day responsibilities of the Mechanical Services (Maintenance) Department, including scheduling the personnel to meet the needs of the College
Initiate, develop and implement maintenance, general repairs and preventative maintenance programs throughout the College
Assist in the procurement of the necessary materials, tools and service contractors as deemed appropriate after confirming with the Manager of Plant Operations
Receive, evaluate and issue work orders for repairs and renovations
Participate in snow removal supervision
Perform related duties as assigned by the Manager of Plant Operations
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or High School diploma and 5 years of supervisory-level experience in a mechanical equipment related environment required
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the HVAC equipment maintenance field
Black Seal Fireman's License or the ability to earn one within 90 days of hire
The ability to work independently and perform hands-on work in emergency and training situations
Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook programs; experience with School Dude or other computerized work order systems preferred
