ASSISTANT MANAGER, Facilities-Off-Site Facilities and Operations, to provide support and backup to the manager of off-site facilities and operations. Will provide overall direction and supervision to support and service staff and contractors; assist with a broad range of leased and off-site facility related responsibilities including snow removal, landscaping, cleaning, security, HVAC, etc.; oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of building systems with the utilization of in-house staff and contractors; provide assistance in overseeing the operations administration budget pertaining to programs and contracts supporting the operational groups; and lead or assist with the department's overall initiatives.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: seven years' relevant experience in engineering, trades management, and/or QA/QC fields; five years' supervisory experience in the trades; solid working knowledge of electrical power, distribution, and emergency power back-up systems; initiative; strong leadership skills; knowledge of and experience with labor relations and conflict resolution; strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of drawings, plans, and specifications; experience with customer service, process improvement, decision-making, managing processes, staffing, planning, developing standards, and emphasizing excellence; accomplished written and oral communication skills; and a valid driver's license. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships; plan, coordinate, analyze, execute, and document specific administrative and management functions; prioritize workloads, multitask, and meet deadlines; and remain calm under pressure. Seek a self-motivated, analytical, organized, and detail-oriented individual who is a quick learner. Experience with CMMS/CAFM is a plus. A bachelor's degree; experience related to the electrical/mechanical/structural trades and/or building construction within an educational or similar institution; and experience working with and as a licensed electrician or an electrical engineer preferred. Must be available to respond to emergencies as required 24/7 relative to snow emergencies, security issues, and equipment and system failures.
