The Building Maintenance Technician is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Facilities. The position requires four or more years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, construction, or similar areas. The successful candidate will possess the skills and experience necessary to provide competent service to the Colorado Christian University (CCU) community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work order ownership. This includes from initial receipt of work order to completion, including effective communication to customers.
Zone ownership. Provide complete customer service to all members of the CCU community in the designated zone.
Shift ownership. Perform all assigned functions during a rotating shift. Includes serving as the immediate response contact for the campus on a rotating basis and responsible for carrying a maintenance phone.
Student direction and guidance. Show Christ's love to student employees as an example of hard work and Christ-like character.
Comply with safety guidelines and other policies as established by CCU and other governmental authorities.
Work cooperatively with vendors as assigned.
Able to perform several or all of the following: demolition, excavation, concrete work, masonry, framing, siding installation and repair, electrical installation and repair, plumbing installation and repair, HVAC installation and repair, drywall (hanging, finish and patch work), painting, roofing installation and repair, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, other general construction, building structural and non-structural evaluation, inventory control, materials inventory, pest control, preventative maintenance, lift or move very heavy items. Some may be in excess of 100 lbs.
Assist the Director of Facilities in project management, communication to and from the CCU community, building maintenance oversight and goal setting, and set an example of Christ-like dialogue.
Other duties as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree preferred or four + years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, construction, or similar area.

Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is required to work on call on a rotating basis, which will include occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.
