Ball State University is seeking a Director of Operations to direct and manage all maintenance operation activities for all Academic and Administrative facilities, steam and condensate central plant, geothermal hot and chilled water central plants and all infrastructure systems.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience: Five years of experience related to facilities or industrial maintenance operation; experience supervising maintenance staff; knowledge and experience with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems; working knowledge and experience with OSHA, IDEM, and EPA regulations, fire and safety codes, uniform building codes, and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical codes.

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, technical or business-related field from an accredited college or university. Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Experience: Experience in a related position with a higher education institution; experience with the production and distribution of steam and chilled water; experience managing bargaining unit employees; experience in budgeting and budget requests. Registration: Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana or obtain a license through “comity” within a reasonable amount of time.
