To manage activities, priorities and schedules of the campus data center, Computer Operations, Scheduling, Scanning Services, Account Management and System support. This includes establishing procedures, supervising activities, monitoring environmental control systems. Administers physical security for a University wide access system and incident response.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, business, or related field and 5-7 years of experience data center/computer operations management .

Essential Functions and percent of time::
40% Manages the activities, priorities and schedules Computer Operations, Scanning Services, Production Scheduling, Account Management and system support for enterprise computer systems. This includes hiring, evaluating, disciplining, training, promoting and motivating full-time unclassified and classified staff. Establishes procedures and directs workflow to ensure the efficient operation of the data center 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, including emergency closures.
25% Administers enterprise system for physical access, including data base, users, hardware, software, scripts and incident response. Advises internal/external clients on security procedures. Provides auditing logs to internal and external auditors.
10% Ensures proper data center operation including environmental control and power systems used within the data center; Fire suppression, water detection, HVAC and power distribution. Maintains clean room environment.
10% Coordinates onsite installs for OARNET schools to co-locate disaster recovery equipment into the WSU datacenter. Assists with setup, monitoring, problem resolution and notification.
10% Defines and directs work priorities by conduction meetings and maintaining procedures and recovery procedures. Monitors and reports on security access and compliance techniques, assisting in training and sharing knowledge
5% Responds to all on campus environmental issues pertaining to the main data center, 24×7×365.
