Job Summary: This position reports directly to the Park Manager and consists of working in an outdoor environment with exposure to the elements: wind, rain, heat and cold. Responsibilities include: Acting in the stead of the Park Manager if the manager is unavailable. Assisting with supervision, scheduling, directing and coordinating daily activities for the park staff. Assisting with the planning, organizing, directing of park operations and physical resources of the park. Assisting with supervising and scheduling upkeep, maintenance and repair of all the park's resources and ensuring that such repairs occur so that the park's resources are safe and in good working order. Monitoring security and safety at the park and reporting incidents to proper authorities such as the Park Manager and Director of Operations.
Essential Job Tasks:
Performs job duties without supervision
Anticipates needs and assists with developing proactive strategies/plans to address those needs
Performs routine park maintenance including painting, power washing, cleaning restrooms, picking up trash, mowing, lifting/moving materials up to 20 pounds, repairing equipment, plumbing, etc.
Follows directions of the Park Manager
Maintains professional relationships in the internal work environment with co-workers/staff and external work environment with public agencies and customers
Enforces Park Board policies and local, state, and federal regulations
Interacts with customers, staff, colleagues, and local, state, and federal agencies in a professional, courteous manner
Assists in the planning, organizing, directing and controlling park operations
Assists with scheduling, organizing and directing park staff to ensure park services are provided safely and effectively
Completes all written documentation/forms as required by Park Board policies
Assists with the management of all park resources including vehicles, supplies and equipment to ensure safety of staff and the public
Assists Park Manager to ensure preparedness for disasters such as hurricanes and acts in accordance to emergency procedures in case of such events
Performs all other duties as assigned

High School Education or equivalent - Bachelor's degree preferred and two years of work related experience required
Minimum two (2) years management experience (managing employees)
Able to work weekdays, weekends and nights. Work hours will be 1pm - 10pm
Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time on a daily basis
Able to kneel, bend, squat and climb stairs on a frequent basis
Skilled at driving all park vehicles
Customer service skills - experience preferred
Computer skills - Excel, Power Point, Word, Google Docs
Read, write and speak English
Holds valid, current class A and C Texas Driver's License
Must be at least 21 years of age
Required current certifications, licenses and training:
Certified Tourism Ambassador - certified or able to become certified
National Incident Management System certifications - ICS 100, 200
