Pay Grade 36. This position performs maintenance on HVAC equipment. Responsibilities include:
Providing temporary repairs in order to keep critical equipment operating until permanent repairs can be made.
Determining and ensuring proper operation of campus HVAC system; applying innovative techniques for troubleshooting and resolving operational problems.
Assisting in performing installation, configuration, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting campus HVAC pneumatic controls systems.
Performing preventive maintenance on HVAC and HVAC- related systems for campus buildings.
Assisting in design reviews of HVAC design specifications and drawings for new and renovated campus buildings and systems.
High School diploma or GED required. Must have some formal training in HVAC operation or comparable technical field; training in various control system is required. Must have 2 years' experience in general HVAC work, including some experience in HVAC controls. Must have knowledge of controls systems; knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, with associated control systems. Knowledge of combustion systems, air and water balancing, thermodynamics, electrical power for HVAC systems, air compressors and dryers is required. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, including control schematics and ladder diagrams. Must possess CFC certification. Must have valid driver's license. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, confined spaces, indoors and outdoors. Will be subject to exposure of various solvents, gases, oils, greases, fuels, noise, and vibration.
