This position will conduct, assist, and participate in the inspection and troubleshooting during the startup and operation of HVAC systems, particularly as it relates to digital control systems. Responsibilities include:
Performing startup, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, programming, calibration, testing and balancing and commissioning of campus HVAC and associated control systems, including computerized digital control systems.
Participating in design reviews and initial checkout, including point to point testing, of newly installed digital control systems and attached HVAC systems for capital and other projects.
Applying knowledge of HVAC and thermodynamic principals in determining and ensuring proper operation of campus HVAC systems.
Performing other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in HVAC operation or comparable technical field preferred. Must have five (5) years experience in general HVAC work, with a minimum of three (3) years in HVAC controls and Direct Digital Controls. Requires knowledge of direct digital control systems; principles of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, with associated control systems; knowledge of combustion systems, air and water rebalancing, thermodynamics, psychometrics, electrical power, air compressors and dryers. Must be able to read and interpret specifications, blueprints and schematics, including control schematics and ladder diagrams. Position requires working in extremes of weather conditions and confined spaces, indoors and outdoors. Must have valid driver's license.
