Job Summary/Essential Job Functions: The Sr. Pipefitter will install, maintain, repair, and weld all types of building mechanical equipment found on campus, and provide leadership, and guidance and training to less skilled personnel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Welds and repairs all leaking pipes, valves, and holes in piping.
Fabricates new piping systems per plans or pre-fabricate piping on existing systems repairing leaks that need repairing.
Installs valves, flanges, unions, and general repair of piping systems.
Assists with all other HVAC problems and run service calls.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED; The ability to read, write, and follow oral instruction; five (5) years of recent experience in welding and installing, repairing, and replacing all types of piping systems; Must possess the ability to be lead on welding installing and repair projects, read blue prints, use all welding equipment necessary to complete the assigned task; use all pipefitting tools and equipment, and trouble shoot piping problems; ability to lift up to 75lbs, climb and work on ladders for an extended period of time; and to crawl and work in small confined spaces. A VALID TENNESSEE DRIVER'S LICENCE IS REQUIRED.
An official transcript or documentation to verify education must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Human Resources Department prior to first day of employment if selected for a position.
