The Technical Director of the Optical/Bioluminescence Sub-Core is an employee of the Small Animal Imaging Facility at the University of Pennsylvania, reporting to the Core Director. The Technical Director interacts directly with the user base, and is involved with training, scheduling, assisting users with data acquisition and processing, and is responsible for scheduling, billing and equipment maintenance. The Technical Director will be directly responsible for developing a training program and will assist in dissemination, customer recruiting and core growth. Research as is related to developing advanced imaging techniques will also be performed by the Technical Director. The position entails operation and maintenance of the optical scanners in the Optical/Bioluminescence Sub-Core, interacting with and training of users, coordination of the facility including scheduling, billing and other tasks as necessary. The successful applicant would be encouraged to develop an interactive research program involving the development and utilization of advanced techniques in optical imaging.
