The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD) is a nationally prominent convention and trade facility with over 1m square feet of exhibit space including the nation’s largest column-free exhibit hall. On average the center holds 101professional, religious, corporate, consumer, trade, sports and educational events annually, and in FY16 the center hosted 119 events.
The position of Facility Manager oversees the daily operations of the facility, including: electrical, HVAC/plumbing, audio visual, maintenance, operations, and capital projects. The facility manager develops, implements and manages unit budgets; forecasts additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; and monitors and approves expenditures. Reviews and implements procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, and safety/risk management policies. The Facility Manager serves as a member of the management team.

EDUCATION: •Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, construction management, engineering or architecture fields
EXPERIENCE: •Five (5) years experience in facilities management, building trades or building maintenance AND •Experience must include two (2) years supervisory/management responsibilities
EQUIVALENCIES: •High school or GED plus nine (9) years of the required experience including two (2) years supervisory or management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirement •An associate's degree in any field plus seven (7) years of the required experience including two (2) years supervisory or management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirement •A bachelor's degree or higher in a non-specified field plus seven (7) years or the required experience including two (2) years supervisory or management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirement •A master's degree or higher in a specified field plus three (3) years of the required experience including two (2) years supervisory or management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirement LICENSE and/or CERTIFICATION:•Valid driver's license with good driving record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: •Effective oral written and communications skills •MS Office or similar software skills •For some positions: strong customer service/hospitality skills
PREFERENCES: •Experience with contract administration, developing and maintaining budgets, procuring building equipment/materials, fleet management, building automation and work order systems is preferred.
Convention & Event Services: General knowledge of all facility trades is required with heavy construction management experience is required. Experience in a public facility, and event-oriented facility, is strongly encouraged. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred. Strong customer service/hospitality skills required.
