The West Virginia University Charleston Campus is seeking applications for a Maintenance Worker II in the Building Services department. The position will be responsible for general maintenance of a large facility.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Assist the facilities manager in the general maintenance and up-keep of the facility.
Perform all room set ups for building activities.
Complete maintenance and up-keep of grounds.
Perform minor electrical work, including changing bulbs and ballasts, replacing switches and fuses, and working around voltage, when assisted.
Complete plumbing duties, including replacing gaskets on bathroom fixtures, and assisting in HVAC needs.
Be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
Work Hours: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with availability for 24-hour emergency calls as needed
Pay Grade: 11
High school graduate
Up to 18 months of education beyond high school in building maintenance
An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
At least one (1) year of experience in general maintenance of a large facility
Ability to problem solve
Physical ability to lift heavy objects
