Our Consolidated Laundry Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic 2. Working under the general supervision of the Chief Engineer perform general mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
Consolidated Laundry has two full-time openings for Maintenance Mechanic 2 (Day, Evening Shifts). Working under the general supervision of the Chief Engineer, the Maintenance Mechanic 2 performs general mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
Duties on a day-to-day basis will include:
Perform preventive maintenance and repair on all types of laundry mechanical equipment such as washers, ironers, folders, etc.
Inspect and test mechanical systems such as belts, sprockets, bearings, high-pressure steam, and electrical systems.
Operate machine shop equipment, including engine lathe, drill press, grinder, milling machine, and hydraulic press to fabricate parts.
Operate a variety of hand tools and electrical test equipment.
Drive service truck as required; load and unload materials and supplies.
Perform related duties as required.
The Maintenance Mechanic 2 inspects, maintains, and repairs mechanical facilities. This position requires knowledge of several related skill fields, such as plumbing, welding, carpentry, machinist work, and electrical control systems, with the ability to diagnose electrical controls.

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a journey worker, OR full-journey status in a union; OR four years' applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
