PURPOSE: Lead facility engineering, project and service subcontract operations. Provide professional engineering consultation, project management, long-range planning, budget administration, high-level engineering administrative services to include policy/procedure development, sustainability planning, and identification of projects, and other lead functions in support of the ORAU Facilities Management Services Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead facility engineering departmental operations, including new projects identification, assignment of responsibilities, prioritization, budgeting, development and maintenance of associated documentation, and coordination and oversight of projects to completion.
Engineering and construction project design, specification development, administration and field management.
High-level facilities and engineering administrative support, sustainability, document and report development, compliance assurance, FIMS management.
Building systems engineering analysis, process and controls optimization, problem solving, resolution implementation.
Facilities service subcontract management, lead other projects and perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required with a minimum of 5 years job-related experience. Registered Professional Engineer - State of Tennessee or ability to obtain professional engineering registration within 2 years of employment. Emphasis in the mechanical, electrical, and/or construction field. Detail-oriented and analytically inclined with extensive knowledge of facility engineering, maintenance operations and construction project design, development and management. Knowledge of building HVAC systems, control systems, energy management and systems optimization. Well-developed engineering analysis and problem resolution skills. Knowledge and skills in long-range facilities planning and development, forecasts and budget management. Exceptional written communication and technical report writing skills required.
