Under supervision of the Facilities Director & Maintenance Lead, provides routine maintenance or similar supportive services in accordance with procedures and standards. Repairs building, facilities and equipment in an efficient and safe manner to meet the operational needs of the Center's staff and clients. Drives agency vehicles. Performs quality service in painting, finishing and maintaining a wide variety of interior surfaces, including but not limited to drywall repairs, staining, and wallpapering. Perform duties as assigned in a professional manner and ensure the safety and comfort of our staff, clients, and visitors.
Graduate of a vocational/trade school with training in heating/AC and building maintenance
OR minimum 2 years on-the-job trade experience including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, and interior painting.
Valid IL driver’s license without violations in the last three years, required. Current IL CDL, preferred.
Able to operate machinery
Effective verbal communication skills to interact cooperatively with staff and clients
Knowledge of safety standards/precautions pertaining to building maintenance and painting
Ability to read and understand written work orders/project statement
Ability to use mops, brooms, paint brushes and rollers and work with cleaning fluids, chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, paints, cleaning agents or similar solutions using protective equipment
Computer skills a plus.
