Reporting to the Assistant Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the maintenance department, including development, implementation and evaluation of all policies and procedures. Exercises independent judgment in carrying out the responsibilities of the position and utilizes the ticket management system to prioritize projects. Plans, supervises, coordinates and controls the installation, repair and maintenance of equipment and operations, maintenance emergency and scheduled repairs. Manages maintenance work orders and the preventative maintenance program. Develops departmental goals, administers the budget, and completes staff performance evaluations.
Education: Associate's degree or equivalent combination of college, specialized training and progressively responsible experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Experience to include three years of supervisory work experience. Three years work experience in general building maintenance, including demonstrated troubleshooting and control systems. Demonstrated proficiency of ticket management system.
Skills Requirement: Computer proficiency including beginner/intermediate Word skills and intermediate Excel skills. Working knowledge of inspection procedures and state/local building codes as related to electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Budget line item responsibility. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of staff and external agencies. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds and professional responsibilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and project management skills. Ability to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy. Solid analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work. Ability to influence, lead, motivate, and develop staff.
