New Visions Academy operates two private day schools located in Baltimore provides a structured learning environment, vocational training and other support services for male students who have been unable to succeed in the public school system. Each student receives an individualized education plan that integrates New Visions Academy's unique combination of core curriculum, career training, behavior management, on-site therapy and extra-curricular activities. Together, these services empower New Visions' students to build skills, confidence and self-esteem to become responsible, successful adults.

This person is the primary teacher to deliver instruction in the area of construction methods: building, framing & drywall to emotionally disabled young men, ages 12-21. (Some plumbing & electrical preferred but not necessary) Duties/responsibilities include:
Instruct students in the safe use of power tools, table saws, and other relevant equipment,
Use the behavior management system to promote a smooth functioning classroom,
Utilize various teaching techniques when working with students on a one-on-one basis, chaperone field trips, work effectively with teacher associate to resolve conflict situations,
High School diploma and at least 5 years of documented experience in the construction industry within the last 10 years.
Willingness to earn college credits in Special Education for certification.
Must be willing to take and pass Praxis I.
Experience working with or willingness to work with students with emotional disabilities or in the mental health field.
Must also demonstrate the ability to correlate lessons with students' IEP.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
