Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $92,000 - $102,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Involves managing the design and construction of capital projects, including renovations, expansions and new facilities and infrastructure as well as landscape projects; collect, develop, and analyze technical data to determine project requirements and preparation of information regarding specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion times.
Mechanical Facilities Project Manager with experience who is responsible for coordinating all phases of building and infrastructure projects and facilities modifications, from establishment of design concepts through design implementation, or coordinates specialized and critical components of projects. Acts independently, receiving guidance at each key phase of the project. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Physical Planning, Development & Operations - Engineering Services (PPDO-ES) supports the UC Santa Cruz academic and research vision by providing engineering services, management and oversight for physical planning, design, and construction of multiple projects. PPDO-ES ensures that projects contribute to and support campus life by creating visually pleasing, functional, and sustainable facilities that are sensitive and responsive to the surrounding natural landscape. We collaborate with other campus departments to facilitate and realize their programmatic and operation needs when building or altering facilities.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Minimum six years progressively responsible experience in mechanical construction project management.
Thorough working knowledge of building and construction, design, construction contract administration and California Building Codes, including full understanding of industry practices.
Ability to administer a construction contract through all phases of construction including: contract document assembly, budget estimating, obtaining approvals, bidding, addendums, contract award, submittals, scheduling, progress meetings, contact enforcement, change order negotiations, commissioning, punch list, contract closeout, budget reconciliation, and enforcing the warranty period.
Demonstrated technical familiarity with at least five MEP systems; (HVAC, BMS, plumbing, process piping, fire protection, lab equipment, power, telecom, life safety, elevators, and campus underground utilities including: water, sewer, gas, storm, district heating, district cooling, medium voltage power, and telecom).
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
