PlantOperations provides facilities support for all construction, renovation, androutine maintenance of University Central space and facilities; housekeepingservices for approximately 5.8 million square feet of academic, administrative,residential, and recreational space; grounds care for 330 acres that are aregistered arboretum; turf care for athletic fields; and utilities for theUniversity Central and the Medical Center.
Key Functions and ExpectedPerformance:
§ Complete required Preventive Maintenance on equipmentincluding but not limited to the following:
o Belt replacement, Sheave/Shiv Replacement, BearingLubrication, Filter replacement, Coil cleaning, cleaning of each componentwithin equipment, and detail cleaning of equipment from top to bottom.
§ Use various metering devices on both energized andde-energized equipment (Manometer, Amp Meter, Temperature probe, Tachometer,etc.)
§ Stand, stoop, crawl, work on elevated surfaces and bein awkward positions for extended periods of time.
§ Operation of Automated Logic and Johnson Controlsautomated control systems via computer and/or tablet device.
§ Communication with stakeholders specific to HVACequipment outages
§ Use of tablet and/or computer to interact with workmanagement system.
§ Use a variety of hand tools.
§ Understand and interpret building floor plans andconstruction blue prints.
§ Maintain flexibility to work overtime and/or weekendsas required.
Thisposition does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reportsadministratively and functionally to Preventive Maintenance Manager and/orPreventive Maintenance Technician Lead.
Experience and Education:
o General knowledge of industrial HVAC systems
o Ability to work safely around rotating equipment
o Strong communication skills
o Able to stand, stoop, crawl, work on elevatedsurfaces and be in awkward positions for extended periods of time.
o Push, pull, lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
o Able to work in various weather conditions
o High school graduate or GED
o Valid driver's license
o High work ethic
o Four (4) years HVAC maintenance experience or formaleducation
o General computer knowledge
o Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Email andInternet primarily)
o Strong communication skills
o Ability to understand and interpret constructiondrawings.
