Senior Facilities Infrastructure & Energy Specialist

Responsible for directing, overseeing and maintaining critical facilities support systems and programs, including MEP, HVAC, Building Management Systems (EMS, BAS, and lighting controls), energy management program, water and solid waste plans with a focus on cost effective energy utilization. Significant engagement with internal team members and external vendors and stakeholders; key to promoting use of renewable energy and water resources and identifying opportunities for advancement in this area and to elevate conservation resource management.
Typical work-related activities include:
Manage the engineering, renovation, preventative maintenance, new construction, and project management resources, contracts and all other aspects specific to all critical facilities support systems
Responsible for evaluating and maintaining the data cabling infrastructure and design of IT rooms critical infrastructure. Partner with IT Department to provide support for future requirements including upgrades of existing data room support systems.
Manage all aspects of the project delivery system to ensure on-time and on-budget completion including: expense authorization, design development, bid administration, contract negotiations and construction administration while maximizing efficiency and value of ACT’s facility infrastructure investments.
Assume an ownership stake in the ongoing evolution and operation of the facility Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Develop, study, analyze, report on and maintain energy management related to building heating/cooling, electrical usage, reclaimed water, and potable water conservation.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in facilities management, construction management, engineering, architecture or design; Master’s degree preferred
Or an combined equivalent of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
A minimum of 5 years of combined professional experience in managing facilities critical infrastructure systems, such as building management systems, energy and/or utility management, environmental services, engineering or experience with developing and implementing an energy management program promoting resource efficiency through computerized platform(s)
Building controls, Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of infrastructure planning to include, but not limited to: power design and layout, structured cabling, and hardware installation/de-installation
Demonstrated strong software skills, including spreadsheets, databases and project management required; MS Office and AutoCAD preferred
Skills relative to CAFM preferred
Strong communication and relationship management skills, including ability to train others, and must be a team player
Good negotiation skill
Advanced knowledge in data cabling infrastructure and design of IT rooms in support of network and communication equipment
A positive customer service orientation
Strong data analysis skills
Must be able to operate comfortably in a fast-paced environment that requires a high degree of coordination with other departments
Ability to be on call to respond to facilities related emergencies
