NATURE OF WORK:
Under general supervision, works with and leads Facilities Management employees in performing a variety of duties at the skilled level; maintains and repairs University assets and infrastructure.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Maintains, repairs, and assures the safe and efficient operation of the University.
Monitors, maintains and repairs DDC systems, controls and instrumentation, including all automated controllers and end devices.
Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of current energy management strategies and building automation controls.
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
High school diploma or equivalent
5 years of experience, or sufficient experience to qualify as a journeyman.
Valid driver’s license.
Alternatively, the successful candidate may possess an appropriate combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. Essential abilities include:
Ability to perform the daily work assignments that are inherent in the job description.
Ability to lift and manipulate objects weighing up to 70 pounds regularly.
Ability to perform work from ladders, scaffolding and elevated surfaces.
Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, including confined spaces, which include extremes of temperature, noise, dust and humidity
Ability to manage potential electrical and chemical hazards that may exist for the completion of certain tasks.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
