The Energy Manager will be working in a dynamic environment to lead energy efficiency programs in the Raleigh/Durham area. The Energy Manager manages the organization's efforts to promote responsible use of natural resources and protection of the natural environment, primarily by reducing the use of utilities and operation of facilities. The individual utilizes various tools and software to monitor building utility consumption to assist with determining energy reduction projects for the organization. The Energy Manager collaborates with utility providers energy service and equipment providers to coordinate organizational energy and sustainability programs and provide analysis, information and recommendations to applicable leadership. Responsible for providing technical analysis, review, measurement, and verification projects.

He or she must be able to maneuver quickly between design challenges, implementation, and market coordination. This position requires excellent planning, budgeting, and people-management skills. The Energy Manager monitors the organization's energy usage. Develops and implements practices and procedures designed to reduce energy consumption and/or improve efficiency of usage. Prepares annual budgets associated with conservation programs. May research alternative/renewable energy technologies and determine their feasibility and cost-effectiveness. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver successful energy efficiency programs to utility client(s) per contract terms and program budgets.
Identify, define, quantify, track and drive program deliverable to be submitted accurately and on time.
Continuous assessment of project progress to goal and development of creative solutions to new issues or market dynamics.
Develop, manage, and foster partnerships with sub-contractors, community groups, and other industry affiliates/stakeholders.
Manage client relationships, including leading regular client meetings and acting as point of contact for specified client relationships.
The purpose of this position is to develop energy efficiency projects and support the implementation of energy and sustainability initiatives within an account.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that global energy and sustainability standards are applied throughout the managed properties.
Responsible for identifying and implementing cost saving strategies for utilities within an account.
Coordinates implementation of new energy savings technologies with the Americans energy and sustainability platform.
Develops, updates, communicates and implements energy efficiency standards. Manages resource initiatives for all sites/regions/portfolio, as assigned.
Develops and presents monthly energy and sustainability status reports. Monitors and reports on energy use at assigned facilities.
Engages team and the global energy and sustainability platform to identify and develop projects. Responsible for formalizing the scope, obtaining quotes, performing project savings analysis, estimate Utility incentives, and obtaining project approval with all the stakeholders.
Collaborates with the global director on the account in regards to the development of energy and sustainability projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
Communicate present and future energy plans and performance through formal presentations to account team.

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university. Minimum of five years of related experience and/or training. Training and accreditation related to Building Automation Systems, HVAC Systems, and knowledge of operations is Office and data Centers.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
CEM accreditation preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and fees. Conducts financial analysis related to energy project development.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Sustainability reporting as it related to GHG and Carbon reporting experience or training preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Software is required. .
