The primary requirements of this position will consist of planning and managing relocation projects in industrial facilities. This position is a lead or management position responsible for the overall direction of equipment and plant relocations.
While possessing strong written and oral communication skills, you must also have the ability to effectively and professionally work with people of various disciplines and levels within a research and manufacturing organization including: scientists, doctors, lab specialists, administrators, architects, engineers, construction managers and executive staff. You should also have an understanding of research/testing related equipment, and relevant support areas.
Duties include the following: Develop overall relocation strategy including a detailed plan for each piece of equipment
Develop roles and responsibilities for internal team members and external vendors including managing resource requirements
Oversee the design, engineering and planning process for the relocation
Oversee and lead relocation team
Develop overall relocation budget and cost tracking and provide on-going updates
Develop relocation schedule include detailed work breakdown structure
Develop requalification, commissioning and calibration requirements for each item moving
Develop project contingency plans
Develop scope of works for each subcontracted service associated with the relocation – engineering, construction, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) services, security technology support and physical mover/rigger
Develop health and safety plan associated with the move activities including working with regulatory bodies to ensure safety, environmental and design standards are met.
Coordinate and chair client meetings
Provide reporting on internal and external service level agreements and KPI's
Present findings and overall relocation plan to executive level leadership for approval
Provide training in the overall move process to internal team members
Audit move process for best practices, lessons learned and process improvement.
Coordinate post move activities and lessons learned
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from College or University in a technical area of study. Minimum four years of related experience and/or training. Previous experience leading relocation projects in an industrial environment strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in facility management, engineering, architecture, interior design or industrial related field preferred.
Six Sigma training a plus.
Strong knowledge of large manufacturing equipment preferred and experience leading and executing industrial relocation projects over 250,000 sq. ft preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
PMP (US and/or Canada) and LEED AP preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices. Experience working with Lotus Notes. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
