Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Boiler/Energy Management Operator for the Department of Facilities Maintenance & Operations. This position is under the direction of the Shift Operations Specialist, performs all mechanical duties required to maintain instruments used to control energy use in various systems throughout the University. These systems include HVAC, electric distribution, steam generation and water distribution.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs all mechanical duties required to maintain instruments used to control energy use in various systems throughout the University.
Repairs energy controls equipment, calibrates machines, and installs new control systems and devices.
Performs a wide variety of highly skilled mechanical duties relating to the repair, maintenance and installation of electronic/pneumatic measuring and control instrumentation.
May be called upon for general mechanical and preventive maintenance duties required to repair and maintain various types of University property and equipment and staff training.
Performs related duties, as required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a high school/vocational education or equivalent.
A valid New Jersey Operating Engineer Blue Seal license.
Two years of experience as an instrument technician in the petroleum, chemical or power generation field also required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel, when necessary, to sites throughout New Jersey for business demands.
A current valid NJ Blue Seal Refrigeration License
Repairs/maintains boilers and related equipment
This position will consist of rotating shifts 24/7/365, including a Holidays & Weekends work Schedule
