Plans, directs, and coordinates through staff of skilled, semiskilled, and unskilled trade personnel, activities concerned with the operation, repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities and HVAC equipment, to ensure reliable and efficient operations. Plans such matters as design and development of plant and HVAC facilities, formulation of operating procedures, regulations, and policies. Formulates procedures for continuity of operations in event of accidents, fires, or other emergencies. Manages department finances, including budgeting and control of salary, non-salary, and capital investment expenses. Oversees and coordinates compliance with all regulatory requirements related to HVAC systems operation and maintenance. Manages supervisory and service staff, including day-to-day supervision, employee relations, and staff development. Maintains effective and responsive relationships with employees, managers, medical staff, departments and external customers. Implements and is accountable to all Inova Health System initiatives.
