RISD's Facilities department seeks to hire a Facilities Operations Specialist for a one-year term. The Facilities Operations Specialist will serve to provide assistance and support in the following areas on a rotating basis: Custodial and Grounds; Maintenance; Mechanical; Plumbing and Electrical; Facilities Operations; Environmental Health and Safety; and Project Management.
The Facilities Operations Specialist is directly responsible for ensuring the successful execution/implementation of smaller scale facilities-related projects and for milestone assignments of larger scale facilities-related projects as delegated by the Facilities Management/Supervisory staff. Provide direction and guidance to appropriate staff members and supervise daily operational tasks related to the RISD Facilities portfolio.
This is a 35 hour per week position with excellent benefits.
Job Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a degree in Facilities Planning and Management or related facilities/construction-type degree such as Engineering, Construction Planning etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience required. Project coordination/management skills required. The position requires a strong ability to communicate (oral and written) and connect with staff from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Previous exposure to course work or relevant experience related to managing, guiding and/or influencing others to attain a common goal. Exposure to, experience with, and proven proficiency in working with database software, CAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
Job Qualifications Preferred:
Relevant working and/or internship experience in the field of higher education facilities preferred.
Valid driver's license preferred.
