Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday; on-call required (work weekend and holiday when scheduled on-call); additional hours as required

Duties: Install, troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment as well as related electronic and pneumatic controls. Performs skilled work in the area of installation, repair, alteration, replacement and maintenance of components of environmental systems such as refrigeration, temperature control, chillers, heating (mostly steam) systems to include other support systems and emerging technology equipment. Utilizes computerized control systems to collect, analyze and modify mechanical system performance to ensure system reliability and system optimization.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Six years of experience in temperature and computerized building environmental automation systems, refrigeration or air conditioning work, including apprenticeship
Two years of experience in computerized building environmental automation systems and meets the minimum eligibility requirements of ESM I
Has refrigeration certificate of at least type 2
Must possess a valid driver's license and meet University's Fleet Safety Program.
Prefer certified journeyman HVAC mechanic with 2 years technical school training. Prefer experience with computer skills using MS Excel and MS Word); basic skills in working with BAS (Building Automation System); trouble-shooting pneumatic, electrical or digital building control equipment; experience in trouble-shooting and repair of ice machines, refrigerators, and window A/C units. Prefer basic knowledge of low pressure steam, condensate and how it is used for heating.
