The Minneapolis College of Art and Design has an immediate opening for a full-time, benefits-eligible Building Maintenance Mechanic in our Facilities Maintenance Department, working 35 hours per week. In this position, the Building Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for independently performing regular preventative and routine maintenance of mechanical, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, electrical, life safety and plumbing systems for all campus buildings.

Applicants must possess a valid Minnesota’s driver’s license, good driving record; and will also be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle DMV Check.

Qualifications include a High School graduate or equivalent. Special Boiler License required. HVAC Trade School graduate, Refrigeration Certificate preferred. Four years experience in building and general maintenance. Must also have experience working in a maintenance environment, operating and maintaining HVAC/mechanical systems, along with electrical/plumbing experience. Must be able to prioritize, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment in all campus buildings. Must also be able to transport equipment, including carts which may carry 400 pounds with the assistance of a dolly, cart or pallet jacket.
